1. Introduction

KergeRaskus (“Nexara,” “the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is operated by KergeRaskus OÜ (the “Data Controller”). We are a fitness tracking mobile application that helps you track workouts, nutrition, habits, progress photos, and more. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By using KergeRaskus you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.


2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you create an account we collect:

  • Email address — used for authentication and account recovery.
  • Password — securely handled by our authentication provider. We do not store your password in plain text.
  • Display name and initials — entered by you and shown within the app.

2.2 Health & Fitness Data

To provide core app functionality we collect and store:

  • Body weight entries and history.
  • Daily step counts (entered manually or synced from a connected app).
  • Water intake logs.
  • Workout sessions — exercises performed, sets, reps, weights, duration, rest periods, RPE (Rate of Perceived Exertion), and mood ratings.
  • Completed workout history including volume, personal records, and timestamps.

2.3 Nutrition Data

  • Food diary entries — meal type, food name, calories, and macronutrient breakdown (protein, carbohydrate, fat).
  • Custom foods — name, brand, serving size, macros, and optional barcode.
  • Custom meals and recipes — ingredients, portions, and nutritional totals.
  • Barcode scans — barcode values are sent to the FatSecret API to retrieve nutritional information. The barcode value itself is not permanently stored by us.

2.4 Progress Photos

  • Body photos (front, back, side angles) that you choose to upload. Photos are stored in a private cloud storage bucket and are only accessible to you (and your coach, if applicable) via secure, time-limited access links.

2.5 Check-Ins

  • Check-in questionnaire responses — text, numeric, and scale answers you submit as part of scheduled check-ins.
  • Coach feedback on your submissions, if you are connected to a coach.

2.6 Chat Messages

  • In-app messages exchanged between you and your coach are stored to provide the messaging feature. Messages include text content and timestamps.

2.7 Preferences & Settings

  • App preferences — notification settings, timezone, connected apps, unit preferences (metric / imperial), and step-sync configuration.

2.8 Automatically Collected Information

  • Device information — platform (iOS / Android / Web) may be inferred for feature availability (e.g., Apple Health is iOS-only).

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the app’s features.
  • Authenticate your identity and secure your account.
  • Display your fitness, nutrition, and progress data to you (and your coach, if applicable).
  • Sync step counts and health metrics with connected third-party apps at your request.
  • Look up food and nutritional data when you scan a barcode or search for foods.
  • Send push notifications you have opted in to (e.g., check-in reminders).
  • Analyze aggregated, anonymized usage patterns to improve the app experience.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

3.1 Legal Basis for Processing (EEA Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), we process your personal data under the following legal bases as required by Article 6 of the GDPR:

  • Performance of a Contract — processing your account information, fitness data, nutrition data, and workout history is necessary to provide the core services of the app that you signed up for.
  • Consent — we rely on your explicit consent for processing sensitive health data (e.g., body weight, step counts, workout metrics), accessing your device camera and photo library for progress photos, syncing data with Apple Health, Google Fit, or Garmin Connect, and sending push notifications. You may withdraw consent at any time through the app’s Settings or your device settings.
  • Legitimate Interest — we rely on our legitimate interest to improve the app’s functionality and user experience, provided these interests are not overridden by your rights.

3.2 Health Data & Connected App Protections

Data gathered from Apple Health, Google Fit, or Garmin Connect is used solely to display your fitness metrics within the app. This data will never be used for marketing, advertising, or user profiling, and will never be shared with data brokers or any third party other than your coach (if applicable) within the app.


4. Third-Party Services

KergeRaskus relies on trusted third-party service providers to operate. These include:

  • Cloud infrastructure provider — for authentication, data storage, file storage, and real-time messaging. Account data, fitness data, photos, and chat messages are processed.
  • FatSecret API — for food and nutrition lookups when you scan a barcode or search for foods. Only barcode values and search queries are sent; no personal identifiers are included.
  • Apple Health (optional) — for syncing step and health data on iOS, at your discretion.
  • Garmin Connect (optional) — for syncing activity data, at your discretion.
  • Google Fit (optional) — for syncing activity and health data on Android, at your discretion.

Each third-party service is governed by its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.


5. Data Storage & Security

  • All data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure hosted within the European Union, using industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit.
  • Progress photos are stored in a private storage bucket. Access requires authentication and is granted via secure, time-limited access links.
  • Access control policies ensure that each user can only access their own data.
  • Passwords are handled entirely by our authentication provider and are never stored or transmitted in plain text by the app.

6. Data Sharing

We share your data only in the following circumstances:

  • With your coach — if you are linked to a coach within the app, your coach can view your training programs, nutrition logs, check-in submissions, progress photos, and chat messages.
  • With service providers — we use the third-party services listed in Section 4 to operate the app. These providers process data on our behalf and are contractually obligated to protect it.
  • As required by law — we may disclose information if required to comply with a legal obligation, regulation, or valid legal process.

We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers. In particular, data obtained from Apple Health, Google Fit, or Garmin Connect is never disclosed to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.


7. Your Rights & Choices

You have the right to:

  • Access your data at any time through the app.
  • Update or correct your profile information, weight entries, nutrition logs, and other data directly within the app.
  • Delete individual progress photos, workout sessions, food entries, and other records within the app.
  • Disconnect third-party integrations (Apple Health, Garmin, Google Fit) at any time from the Settings screen.
  • Disable push notifications at any time from the Settings screen or your device settings.
  • Request deletion of your entire account and associated data by contacting us at the email address below. Upon account deletion, all your data — including photos, messages, and fitness records — will be permanently removed from our systems.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you also have the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.


8. Data Retention

  • We retain your data for as long as your account is active.
  • If you delete your account, all associated data is deleted from our database and storage within 30 days.

9. Children’s Privacy

KergeRaskus is not intended for use by children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.


10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
